JAKARTA, Indonesia — At least two Canadians were injured Friday when two bombs exploded at upscale hotels in downtown Jakarta.
Police say the blasts killed eight people and wounded 50. At least 14 foreigners were among the injured and the dead.
Officials at the Canadian Embassy in Jakarta confirmed early Friday that two Canadians were among the foreigners injured.
Both were in hospital but no other details were released.
The Jakarta Post reported one of the Canadians is being treated in hospital for burns covering more than 30 per cent of his body.
The newspaper said the man is a chef at a restaurant at the J.W. Marriott, one of the two hotels bombed.
